Common questions from small businesses and entrepreneurs about web design services.
Web Design
Do you work with businesses outside Saskatchewan?
Yes. I'm based in Saskatchewan but work remotely with service-based businesses across Canada and internationally. We collaborate by email, phone and video call, so your location is never a barrier.
How much does a website cost?
Every project is scoped to your goals, so pricing depends on the number of pages, features and level of custom design. After a short discovery call I will give you a clear, fixed quote before any work begins. No surprises.
How long does it take to build a website?
A typical small-business site takes two to four weeks from the time I have your content and images. Simpler one-page sites can be faster; larger sites with extra features take a little longer. I will share a timeline up front so you know what to expect.
Will my website work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Every site is fully responsive, so it looks and works well on phones, tablets and desktops. Most of your customers will find you on mobile, so that experience is a priority.
Do I need to write all the content myself?
You know your business best, but you are not on your own. I can help organize, edit and structure your text so it reads clearly and helps customers take action.
Can you update or maintain my site after launch?
Absolutely. I offer ongoing maintenance for content updates, technical checks, link testing and image changes, so your site stays current without you having to touch the code.
Logo & Branding
Do you design logos?
Yes. I design original logos from scratch and deliver them in the formats you will actually need: full colour, single colour and reversed versions, as vector and web files, so the same mark works on a website, a sign, an invoice and a social profile. A logo can be a project on its own or part of a website build.
What is the difference between a logo and branding?
A logo is one mark. Branding is the system around it: your colour palette, typefaces, image style and the rules that keep them consistent. A logo tells someone who you are once; branding is what makes you recognisable everywhere. If you only need a mark to get started, that is a perfectly good place to begin.
I already have a logo. Can you work with it?
Absolutely, and often that is the right call. I will build the site around your existing mark and draw the palette and type system out of it. If your logo only exists as a low-resolution image, I can redraw it as vector so it stays sharp at any size. It is a small job, and worth doing before it goes on a website.
Redesigns & Maintenance
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. A redesign usually means keeping what already works (your content, the pages people already find, the habits your customers have) and rebuilding the structure, design and speed around them. I start by going through your current site and telling you honestly which parts are worth keeping and which are holding you back.
Getting Found Online
Do you handle SEO?
Every site I build includes the fundamentals: clean page structure, proper headings, descriptive titles and meta descriptions, structured data, fast loading, mobile layouts and accessible markup. That groundwork is included, not an add-on. Ongoing SEO (keyword research, content strategy, link building) is separate work, and I will be straight with you about what is realistic for your market.
What is GEO, and does my business need it?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization: being the source AI assistants quote when someone asks them to recommend a business like yours. More people now ask an AI for a recommendation instead of scrolling search results. The work overlaps heavily with good SEO: clear structure, structured data, pages that answer real questions in plain language. A well-built site is already most of the way there. This FAQ page is part of it.
Do you use AI to design and build websites?
Yes, and I am upfront about it. AI helps me write code and try layouts quickly, but it does not make the decisions. Your site's structure, its typography, the order your services appear in and what each page asks a visitor to do next are all my calls, made around how your business actually works.
What it changes is your invoice and your timeline. You get the same standard of work an agency would deliver, without paying for agency hours.
